Who is Jessica?
Growing up, my parents made enormous sacrifices to give me an amazing violin education with great classical teachers. After decades of private lessons, performing in concert halls around the world, getting my violin performance degree from Northwestern's Bienen School of Music and teaching for 20+ years, I created this checklist to help students at any level, whether you have a teacher or not, look better and sound better on this wonderful instrument. This checklist covers the most important elements that I see students struggle with most. And hey, at some point I made most of these mistakes, too, and I wish I'd had these checklist reminders!
For beginners, this resource also includes a visual map of all the notes in first position, along with easy sheet music that has all of my fingerings so you can follow along even if you aren't reading music just yet.
Tell me if it this resource helps you in your practicing.
Yes, it's 100% free. And seriously, I'd love to know if it helps you.
Send me the checklist!
